Honestly, it is truly not worth all the work to get it through the door. I was a little freaked out about going in through the window, but it was just so easy. I had access to a forklift, but with a couple of guys helping, it would be just as easy.

I removed my driver seat (4 bolts), then removed the driver side window ('06 Knight). There was a lot of screws to remove, but there is no caulking or other special things. The screws come out, the trim is removed, and the window pops out. The window goes right back in. No goofing around. And it sealed up perfectly, and I got no road noise after re-installation.

Going in through the front door, you have to take the fridge apart, then risk poking your dash, scraping things, etc.

Seriously. Pop that window out. You will be surprised how easy it is

The door opening is almost 26" wide. Have to take the check strap loose at the top of the door and hold cardboard against the dash and door to prevent damage to them and the face of the fridge. The only tight part we had was at the bottom of the fridge and we had to get the unit almost horizontal to get it past the pins for the door latches.

I did take the fridge doors off, but they had to be changed anyway. It also lightened the load to make it easier to lift. 10 screws and it was done. The window is a long way up if you don't have a forklift handy.

Also removed the passenger seat. It was only 4 bolts and a few minutes.

I took an hour taking the NorCold apart and took it out of the coach by myself. A friend came over and it took us less than 5 minutes to put the fridge inside. I have another couple hours in moving the 110 outlet and the top trim and setting the unit in place to figure out how to secure it for a trip I had to make this morning. Will try to get it finished in the morning and take some pictures.

just an FYI, we ordered our Samsung online from Home Depot. IT included free delivery. I asked if that included putting it the "area" where it would be used. I was assured it did. So. Had passenger seat removed and HomeDepot delivery men removed doors and helped put it inside.

I had to remove the lower drawer that was under the Norcold. I used 1 by 1 square tubing and fastened it to the wood floor and then removed the adjuster legs. I drilled out the hole for the adjuster to accept a 5/16 inch bolt and bolted that through the 1 inch square aluminum tubing.
The fridge I removed had the Amish upgrade done to it by a previous owner. It wasn't working.
This past vacation was the first good trial for the Samsung. Only problem we had was no ice cream scooper along to get the rock hard stuff out.

Residential fridge

Just replaced our Norcold 1210 for a side by side Whirlpool. Opted for a side by side for a few reasons.

Water and ice in the door.

Only needed 2 inches more for height. Width and depth are perfect. Had to take 2 inches off the slide roller adjustment mount under the fridge. A local welding shop made quick work of that. Moved the base down 2 inches. Perfect fit.

Easy to keep closed under travel and we can open under travel as well.

Flat door fronts vs the curved french. Should we ever choose to add panels.

We have had a French door fridge in 2 previous houses. We always opened both doors anyways. This way, we only open 1.

We already had a pure sine wave inverter.

Came out great. I always wondered why people changed to a residential, now I know.

We swapped them through the window. 4 guys, made it really easy.

We put in the Samsung RF 18 four years ago. Never had a moment of trouble. Threw the Dometic out. Best conversion a person can make to their luxury apartment on wheels.
