Sounds like to me the compressor is coming on or off and could be ice falling in the ice bin from the maker

I suspect you are down in Florida or some other warmer climate than NJ. When we camp in weather where both the air conditioners and the furnace are off because they are not currently required to maintain a nice inside temp things get very quite in the coach. You will start to hear all sorts of noises that you were unaware of. The last few weeks I have noticed a loose sub-flooring sheet as I walk on the carpet. I suspect redbaron has hit the nail on the head and you are only hearing the relay that engages the compressor.

Enjoy the peace and quite.

Bob

Sounds like your ice maker. They can click as they push the ice from the maker to the ice bucket.

You didn't say what brand your residential fridge is and model.

My Samsung makes some "ticking like" noises when the fridge section starts the defrost cycle. That noise is from the different surfaces heating and cooling which causes them to expand and contract.

I suspect that's what you are hearing.
