Greetings All!

I have a water leak behind our refrigerator. It flows in the right front and left rear and runs down between two bays.

I need to slide it out and it seems that it is locked in. I removed the top wood fascia and metal bracket.

Has anyone removed one of these heavy units? Are there any hidden brackets locking it in anywhere.

We are in a campground and I would like to resolve this.

The coach is a 2007 Monaco Executive with a Maytag residential refrigerator.

Have you removed the outside access door to see if you can locate the leak?

Thanks for your response. I did remove the driver’s side outside access door and looked for a water leak. There is a damp area at the bottom left behind the refrigerator.

What’s strange is that water is seeping underneath the tiles in front of the refrigerator inside as well as between the bays right below the outside access door.

I did use a 5/8 to 1/4 sharkbite connector for one of the water lines behind the refrigerator because it was leaking. The other inside water intrusion and outside leakage is still occurring.

Can you turn off the water to the fridge. There should be a valve. You will destroy the subfloor if you let the water leak for to long.

There is some type of bracket that hold the fridge in place if if installed per code. Maybe the mh manufacture used a strap. But you can't have a fridge moving around on the road. I think you should find the bracket in the installaltion instruction for the fridge. Google the fridge "model number Installaltion instructions" it will give you an idea what your looking for.

Are you sure the water source is the frig? Is the leak persistent or only at certain times? Could it be coming in from the slide roof or at the bottom of the slide, during rainfall?

My Whirlpool 25' side by side has wood trim across the top with wooden buttons covering two screws. Remove the screws and a steel plate is easy to see and remove, then the fridge can be slid out.

Also Monaco thought the defrost tray below fridge would just evaporate like a home unit...yeah well ok if sitting, if full when a move day...water all over. I drilled a hole in the pan and floor, ran a 1/4 line all the way down to the outside, problem solved.

Love re-engineering Monaco stuff. A challenge when coach was new, most everything done after all these miles, but every once in a while I get a new one.

Thanks for your response. The mobile RV specialist and I looked for a cutoff valve but could not locate it.

As far as the fridge installation instructions, the mobile RV specialist looked up the unit and could not find anything but I will look also.

I took the unit to an RV service center today. It will be looked at by them to find out about this water intrusion issue.

I agree that a subfloor damage could occur.

The water source is from the refrigerator area. It could be something else but it is strange that the water flows directly from the fridge.

There aren’t any other water leaks and the leak is constant when on campground water or using water pump drawing from fresh water tank. There is no water leakage when not using any water and both deliveries are off.

The water also drains down between two bays on driver’s side near bottom of fridge.

My Norcold has an ice maker and the water line to it broke.

The water line was connected to my kitchen sink and had a shut off valve under the kitchen sink.

The steel plate and decorative wood fascia above fridge have been removed. The unit will not move out.

There must be something securing it to the floor.

Thanks for responding. I did not think about the shutoff valve being under the kitchen sink. Is your refrigerator on the same side as the kitchen sink?

Our kitchen sink is diagonally across from the refrigerator.

Monaco normally puts the ice maker shut off under the fridge alongside the furnace.

I presume you mean that the ice maker shutoff is under the housing of the refrigerator or in a different compartment underneath it?
