Roof question

We have a 2003 HR Vacationer. It has an aluminum roof.

I was recently on the roof and found the caulking around vents and a skylight was starting to crack. What should I use to repair the cracks? Is it recommended to remove the cracked caulking down to good solid material and then apply new caulking?

I look forward to your suggestions.

Yes - clear away all the caulking. Normally this is hard work, but it is worth the effort.

We used to repair failing caulking with Eternabond tape, and where the caulking would otherwise fail, the Eternabond tape would seem to last what seemed forever.

You can get it at Camping World, but somewhat cheaper on line.

Good luck.
