We use the Garmin RV 760 and like it a lot. Not perfect, but big screen, easy to use.

Ditto Bill's recommendation. Extremely user-friendly. Attempts to keep you away from low clearances, size restrictions and weight limits and includes lifetime map updates and real-time traffic. Like Bill said, "big screen, easy to use."

I have the 760, but I heard the new 770 is even better. I've had both RM and garmin. I feel the garmin is the better gps. I use the voice commands all the time to find rest areas. The traffic congestion ahead feature works great. It's never steered me wrong, But RM did several times and people will say it's because the software was out dated. My garmin never did my wrong because it was out dated.

We also have a Garmin 760 and are very happy with it. That being said, we did have a trip where it tried to put us on a road which was not fit for a motorhome. Thankfully a local came by. He said his truck wouldn't even fit on the road the GPS was sending us and gave us directions to get back to a major road. Yes, I did contact Garmin and notified them of the problem. Lessons learned!! Don't trust your GPS as your only source to get you there!! We use the GPS as a guide, then check the maps (old school), Google maps, and follow the directions given on the campgrounds website.

That is the gospel truth .
I have the RV 760 and we like it very much but with that being said , on this trip it led me in circles in Golden Colo and then it steered me to
a Flyin J that didn't exist in a neighborhood .

Now I will admit Golden is a mixed up town but that's why I have a GPS
ain't it

I also use the 760 but it's steered me incorrectly a couple times. I always have a second one running now. We can compare information from both of them and make an educated decision.

I've updated the maps on the 760 recently but haven't been on a trip to test it out yet.

Maps can be updated quarterly to help with some of the things I see posted here...
but all the gps mfg's use the same map companies, so it's up to the Navteq's, teleatlas, etc... to convert the maps to your gps mfg...

how to report map issues:

RV GPS

We use my wifes old Ipad and some downloadable software called CoPilot. I found a truck type windshield suction bracket that places the IPad very close to the edge of the dash for easier viewing and access to controls. Of course you can use google maps and there are other software options out there to use. I like the size of the IPad and the flexibility to use for other things.

I use an IPAD Mini 4 and CoPilot as well. Much much better than the Magellan 5" I used prior to it.

I have been using DeLorme Street Atlas versions on a PC for well over a decade; upgraded to a new version every few years. DeLorme was bought out by Garmin and their last version came out around 2014 or 2015. missed it :-( . I've been looking now I realize I should have ordered it then. Anybody know where it's available?

I'm going to research the Garmin but I'm looking for a GPS with Blutooth so I can make and receive calls too. Any ideas?
