I moved the fan to the right and moved the thermister to the 22nd fin from the right as per JC install instructions. The tech that installed it did a great job installing it I watched him but he had the fan mounted in the middle and the thermister on fin #21. As you stated JC says to install the fan to the right and thermister on 22nd fin. Fired it up on 5 setting and in 5 hours freezer 0 and fridge 32. It was also working great with the fan in the middle but will go with JC's instruction.

Thank you Del. Hopefully mine will be doing the same when The new unit comes in the end of next week.

Not to knock the JC or any other conversions of the Norcold. However I want to dispel some of the fears about putting in a Samsung. I did mine, years ago, just as Nodine, Vito.a and many others here have done.

Window removal is not necessary on most Monacos, and probably other coaches with the same size entry door. Measuring will answer that. Moving the door to the max opening by disconnecting the top strap, and. of course, removing passenger seat and anything else obviously in the way, will allow the Samsung in with doors off. Measure twice here, just like you'd do if you were bringing in a new Gas-Absorbtion unit.

I know a few who have installed a Samsung above an existing furnace, that may not be possible in all coaches but I'll let those owners speak for themselves. For those with cabinet below you have a choice of putting the Norcold at floor level, the way it's done in houses, or having a smaller cabinet below... or above if you like. (My old, dead Norcold came out in pieces so I cannot say how easy hard it would be to take one out if that is necessary to convert it).

I am not the expert that either of the gentlemen I mentioned above, however I was able to handle the Norcold-to-Samsung swap. I would not have attempted converting a Norcold to compressor type, so I do not know what's involved there. I am sure that JC refrigeration makes a good product and don't want to knock anyone here. Just note that it's worth looking at all the options with their relative advantages and disadvantages.
