Rv wash soap?
Ok, 2 questions, both on my holiday rambler admiral with aluminum siding. What soap do you use on the exterior with 14 years of road life. Dawn or car wash soap won’t do anything. Looking for something strong but not enough to worry about causing damage to the finish. #2? Above the drivers seat in the cabinet where the tv switching is,, is another switch by itself on the outside wall. It matches the switches throughout the coach. What does this thing do for a living???

I would have thought Dawn would do something. I have never been to impressed with regular car shampoo on real dirt and road grim. Now on my weekend car it does fine. I have looked at several degreasers, but they all say not safe for paint or aluminum. What I have found that works well on spots is dryer sheets for mild grim and Mr Clean Magic Eraser for everything else.

Dawn will remove any wax on it. Good cleaner, but not something you want to use on a vehicle body.

Totally Awsome yellow cleaner will clean some nasty ugly stuff off . Don't use full strength comes in $1spray bottles and bigger containers at General Dollar. Its more potent than car wash or Dawn so you would want to use all the time. Determining what the nasty grime is helps, mildew , mold ,algae and lichen can grow on finish. Light bleach solution can help clean and kill it off. A good long soft bristle brush that screw on a pole helps. Menards carries Liberman brand mops and brushes as well as long extendable hose brushes in truck auto section.

I use a quality car wash detergent, followed by Finish Kare 2180 Ultra Polymer Sealant (link here). Both work well on our cars, our former aircraft-grade (smooth) aluminum-skinned Class C, and our current 2008 Admiral. The sealant can remove some grime, in addition to bringing back the shine. It seems to last much longer than wax.

Absolutely. I'm glad you posted that comment. Don't want to miss lead anyone out there. Dawn dish soap isn't the best option. They make rv wash Pacifically just for RVs . I have watched several channels that say to use dawn dish soap to clean the exterior of the RV. But that's not very good advice.
I advice RV owners to check with their local body shops and ask them what they use to wash fiberglass vehicles. I can assure you that it's not dawn dish soap. Works OK for small tar removal but definitely not to wash the entire exterior.

Sounds like way past worrying about any leftover wax being removed. They change product lines a lot at General Dollar they used to HD truck wash and wax came in silver bottle looked like flattened 55 gal drum it , used it to clean my old white work truck I had for towing old TT a couple years ago, A nearby tree used to trash it bad. Was in the auto section, it was strong enough to clean filth off not so good paint lol.
