RVA Jacks

I have a 2004 Ambassador Holiday Rambler 38PDQ. It has an RVA JII Leveling system and the right rear jack will not extend. The front and left rear work great in both extend and retract.

I have checked the fluid and it is fine, also I have switched the solenoid coils from the working ones to the right rear and still no response. I have checked the rocker switches on the control panel and they are all good.

I have opened and closed the valves for the emergency retract and that did nothing. The pump works fine when I extend or retract the front and left rear.

The pump doesn't come on when I try to extend the right rear. I have played with the wires to the solenoids and no change. I have checked any fuses and they are all good. Any other suggestions because I am at a loss for what to do. Thank you, Dan.

Dan.....I read through what you did twice....your issue doesn't make sense. You said you swapped solenoids. When you did this, did you use the switch associated with that solenoid or use the right rear switch?

My switches on my 2005 Diplomat eventually went bad and had to be replaced. Switch the wiring from the right switch to the left switch, at the dash, and see if it works. My switches went bad because of the way they sit on the armrest.....dirt and dust can easily collect in them. After replacing mine, I placed a towel over the witches when in storage, to keep them clean.

It sounds like the switches to me also. I pulled mine up, took a couple of pics of the wire connections, cleaned them, put them all back and they have been trouble free ever since.
I vaguely remember having to be careful not to drop the nuts down into the cavity below.

You may have an RVA controller issue. I had a similar issue with our Windsor, but when I moved the adjacent coil over to the bad jack it would work. But, as Don points out it's a bit confusing because now you have to use the rocker button for the good coil you just moved over.

Back when the RVA founder was around, you could send in your controller and they would rebuilt it.

Brazel's RV has purchased RVA and may be able to support you.

Thank you all for the advice. When I switched the coil from the front to the rear right you are right I did not push the correct switch to see if it would activate. So I will try that and get back to you. What a rookie mistake.

Also I first thought it was the rocker switch on the controller but I took them out and disconnected the wires and checked on my ohm meter and they work good so it has to be the coil. I will try that again and I will post the outcome. Thank you all.

RVA Jacks

Well I tried switching the coils again for the Right Rear Extend to the Front Extend and this time I used the correct switch and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much for helping me correct the problem.
