Safari Cheeta slide out search

Hello, I am working on a 2001 Safari Cheeta diesel, the bedroom slide is not working. When you hit the switch the motor has 12 volts but it as soon as the LOAD hits it drops to 4 or 5 volts. What I want to find.is the controller, I can follow the wiring down to the belly on top of the tanks but then it vanished into the frame. Does any one know the location of the controller?

On my 2003 Beaver the rear slide is electric. It freezes with the same symptoms as yours when the brake fails to release the motor shaft when the switch is activated. I take the brake off the motor shaft, clean it with electrical cleaner/lube spray and put it back on the shaft. It will work for 8-12 months of regular use and I have to clean it again.

The only issue with that is is it's a new motor and Brake and when I put the test meter on the incoming voltage to the motor when you hit the switch it drops down to about 5 volts if I put good 12 volts to the switch by the time it reaches the motor it's down to five that's why I'm trying to find the controller wherever it's located in the coach

Don't know if this will help, but on my coach the rear slide control in in the battery bay in the black box labeled Monaco #3.

If the brake won’t let the motor spin the voltage will go down significantly when the motor is under load.
