Satellite connection points

OK, I have a holiday rambler ambassador 05. It has the Winegard RT 8000s on the roof. There was no electronics in the coach when I purchased it so I'm trying to update and figure out what is what. On the left-hand side there's a panel on the upper compartment with three coax plugs. Next to that is a switch that says roadtrip miniMax on or off and under off says stationary satellite. I've purchased a dish receiver and set the dip switch for dish. But I'm not receiving any signal. I am plugged into the coacts that says to video switch and that connects to the back of the receiver is that the correct one to the roof? The other 2 say external input and roof input. I would appreciate anyone with a similar coach chiming in to let me know which coacts I need to plug into to access the roof dome.

Thanks tinstar, I have the manual, what I'm trying to figure out is of the three connection points in the coach which one do I tie into the dish receiver so that it connects to the satellite on the roof.

Go to Lowes and get a "toner'. Its about $20. A sending device fits on one end of coax and a hand held receiver will tell you with a tone at the other end. Very easy to use and a must have for sorting cables that disappear into the walls and ceiling.

I used a continuity test meter to sort mine out. I had about 18 coax in the cabinet I just hooked them up one at a time to see where it went. Or the easy way would be to climb on the roof, disconnect the cable at the dish and test that one looking for continuity at in one of those 3 connections. If you don't have one, you can get them for about $5 or $6. I'm sure that "toner" that adamfolger described works fine too.
