So, I have to not be aggressive when cleaning and waxing on the sidewalls. Now, my end caps are both fiberglass.
Yep on my old HR TT the paint wore thru after about 20 years. On my roof i just use the orbital buffer it doesnt remove as much dead paint as the rotary. And im hoping the wax will prevent the oxidation.

Gel coat is pretty thick i needed a 3/4 hole in the side for my camera system and used holesaw then could see how thick it was compared to paint.

I clean my roof once a year using Wash Wax All. See the following article:

Dry Cleaning | MotorHome Magazine

I like this because when I'm at a campground and have some free time, I can do a section at a time. I then apply 303 UV protectant.

There is a two-part (2K) paint product that has been receiving high praise, which I think will work nicely on the tops of our RVs. I plan to use this in the spring on my coach.

It is made by EMC and called Quantum 99. It is said to be a "very hard" finish and very glossy, and can be either sprayed or roller on. One negative comment was that when rolled on it shows orange peel (possibly would flow out better if applied in a hotter temperature). Polyurethane Topcoat | EMC2 Quantum Paint

There are several videos on using this product such as
