This probably depends on details, is it owned in your name, or did you set up an LLC, are we talking a $10,000 or a $1,000,000 RV, etc? If it is a simple vehicle in your name, with clear title, being sold as-is and not an extreme upper end model, I see no need to involve a lawyer for a simple vehicle sale, check with the DMV in your state of registration for the correct process / forms to use. This does vary state to state.

Without a lawyer be sure that the buyer's "check" or "cashier's Check" or whatever form of payment clears before you sign over title. Lots of fraud in this business. At least a Lawyer will protect you form this.

Some like to make the financial transaction at the Seller's (your) bank so the bank can verify that source of funds is legit. Then you can download/fill out a Bill Of Sale form from your DMV website and sign over the title. Selling an RV is no different than selling a car (except the dollar amount is usually higher).

I only accept cash or a wire transfer to my bank account.....many many many cashier checks are bogus.
Over the years I have bought and sold airplanes and RVs and never had a problem handling the funds this way.

I would specify in the ads "will only accept a direct transfer of funds between your bank and mine, NO EXCEPTIONS!" This is the only safe way to do it IMHO!
