Question Shepard steering box

Took my 04 Monaco Safari Sahara to big truck alignment shop to have alignment done. Told them steering wheel of a little when picked up drove about 20 miles home and when parked saw steering fluid leaking below the steering box with further inspection they had lengthened the drag link what i read you can't do that to straighten.
the steering wheel because you altered the movement of pitman and steering release valves in steering box. Any comments on this please

If seal was dried out and they tried to remove the Pittman arm could have caused a leak.Just centering the wheel could have been done at steering column. There's a couple U joints there and spines there, plus grease locations.
