Shurflo Water Pump - Fuse Location? Monaco Diplomat

We've got a 99 Diplomat (as many of you know all too well). It uses the Shurflo 2088-403-444. We replaced the original one about a year or a year and a half ago, and the new one has worked fine (albeit noisily) since then.

Until last night, that is.

Suddenly, nothing. No power to the pump, no water flow. Yes, the water tank is adequately full. If we need a new pump (again), fine; but we'd like to exhaust all other options first.

Can anyone send us a picture showing where the legendary fuse is, the one (supposedly) located in the positive power line to the pump? We've looked EVERYWHERE; no dice. We simply cannot locate the fuse.

This isn't something that would be under the driver's side, in that circuit bay, is it?

Thanks!

My 03 dynasty is probably different but my fuse is a spade plugged into the motor on the pump kinda out of sight toward the back of the motor

Nice coach you have!

It may be located on the back of the pump. I'm trying to track down a spec sheet on the Shurflo 2088-403-444, which as memory services, has been replaced by an upgraded unit with a new number.

Your pump may have a controller like this located somewhere nearby. They like to hide them behind water bay panels.

The second attachment shows a signal tracer. They can be found at Lowes. Connect to the positive lead and then start sniffing with the probe. Go rignt to the fuse panels first.

I hope that isn't hidden somewhere. We wouldn't have the slightest clue where to look for something like that, and we obviously can't just take our coach apart in the hopes we'll find one.

Any vintage Diplomat owners want to kick in, now would be a great time!

If you have more than one switch to operate the water pump you have a controller somewhere. Everyone I have worked on is near the pump.
Have you checked for power at the pump? The controller switches the ground so you will need to check it too. There is also a pressure switch that could be the problem and it is on the pump.

The tone injection device will help you sort it out. A flashlight and mirror can help and especially if you do it at night so outside light does not interfere.

This is from a 2006 so your mileage may vary but it seems logical that fuse should be from the bedroom panel.

The data sheets for ShurFlo pumps are here.

The 4008 is a popular replacement for the 2088. Link here.

The manuals I scanned did not show a fuse as included with the pumps.

That was my conclusion, too...but I thought I was losing my mind. So...no fuse equals new water pump, most likely.

There is no fuse for it in the driver's side panel and none of the switches in the bedroom box handle the water pump.

If it's the pressure switch, then I believe that's built into this model of pump and would require disassembly.

It's time for us to call a tech; work commitments and lack of technical knowledge require it at this point.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Shurflo for the 99 Diplomat...

Just FYI for anyone with a 99 Diplomat and trying to deal with a failed or failing water pump:

According to Shurflo, the 2088-403-444 was replaced by the 4028-100-E54.

We hope someone finds this information useful!

Maybe a '' lite tap '' on the housing with pliers '' might '' get you by for a short time - mine wouldn't respond so I did a couple of taps & walla it responded. I replaced it when I returned home after 2 weeks .

In computers, we used to call that the "poor man's computer repair." It worked (and still does) a surprisingly amount of the time.
