Signature Series Power Seat Problems
Hey Guys, I have a 2000 Monaco Signature Series and have a dead short that fries the 30amp circuit breaker on my power seat system. I have found out that it is the passenger seat doing the damage. Just wondering if anyone knows or has had this problem. It seems the motor or the heater option is shorting out and blows the breaker as soon as the positive power wire is plugged into the seat. Any info would be great!
Thanks

seat power
I had this happen when a pillow got stuck and held the switch on . I added a fuse to the circuit after replaceing the circuit breaker and watch it carefully as I use the MH with my race car team..

RVDaddy, a few questions. Does the circuit breaker pop right away without operating the seat? Is the heat option turned off? If it does it right away without the heat on and not changing seat position would suggest that you have a short or loose wire going to the seat and the problem is not a bad motor or heater because they are not operating. What I would do is first unplug the wiring harness that goes to the seat and try it again. If it does it again the problem is in the wires going from the breaker to the seat. If it does not do it then I would check the wires on the back of the seat control switches. Most likely one has come off the switch and is shorting out to the seat frame.

I removed the drivers seat and inspected it, then unplugged the power (Hot) to both seats and replaced the 30amp breaker. I plugged the drivers seat back in and it worked without blowing the breaker, I then went to the passenger seat and started to plug it in and SNAP. So the problem is in the passenger seat. I will remove it and inspect the wire loom. Thanks so much, and will post what I find today.

I believe you should have 3/4 small motors in that passenger seat, also

It can't be the motors because the circuit breaker pops before the adjustment switches are pressed
