Not at all, just people contributing relevant knowledge to hopefully ensure success for someone in their time of need.....personally, I think that's a really good thing

Instead of silicone I would use Gates green stripe. Expensive but great stuff. Truckers never use silicone.

I read up on this last year and decided against the silicone. The gates hoses lasted 17 years , the hoses on the tundra are 21 years, I probably won't have to do another set.

Sounds like a knuckle bleeding head bumping challenge for sure.

Has anyone here gone to a place like JoSams and had them change the hoses and antifreeze?

Just curious how a repair place does this. Do they stockpile all kinds of hoses and then go window shopping?

What I mean is that I can't go to a parts counter and say I need these hoses for a (make and model and yr) vehicle on our RV like I can for my F150.

We full time and would not want them having to go shopping for these things and take a couple of days to change them.

Probably answering my own question but would like some real world experience.

I suspect an antifreeze change and hose change would be upward of 2K is doing it with a check book?

Thanks. Not trying to hijack the thread. Just thought this group may have some experience.

No, you can’t go to the auto parts store and do that, but if I remember correctly, there are only 90 and 45s on my coach. I measured them and just ordered them longer than I measured. Only one coolant hose was very long anyway. That one was the one going to the front of the radiator. One was very short. I bought 100’ of heater hose and cut it to length as I used it. I think I spent well over $300 for hoses.

If it is not broke, do not fix it. What is wrong with the old hoses?

I have already replaced the hose that goes to the coolant tank when I changed out the tank to a stainless steel one made by Talin Vector. So just looking for the other ones.

Any info is appreciated as always.
There are many types of silicone hoses.

Some that not compatible with gas and oil.

Some that do offer protection from gas and oil .... either on the inside of the silicon hose or the outside or both.... get you wallet out and dig very deep.

First off as someone already asked ...what wrong with the hoses on the coach?

If just an age thing ?..... they have lasted 14 years so far with no issues.

That said, I would do a visual look see for any issues and then squeeze them pretty firm and see if you see any signs of cracking soft spots and the likes of ...... and make the call from there.

Personally I would not waste my time and the hassle of getting the proper silly cone hoses for my application, as someone else has already stated if you feel the need to replace the heater hoses?.. I would go with Gates Green Stripe and be done with it and now good for another 20 years min.

As far as getting the correct radiator hose as someone asked ?...as stated earlier most are pretty simple and not very complex and if removed from the coach and taken any real HD parts supplier they will be able to size you up and and if not?... most likely have them next day.

Real HD parts outlets like Fleetpride and Ryder and the likes there of will have hundreds of hose hanging on the wall ( most in their back room out of sight ) .....and most every town have a HD truck Tractor parts house that can hook you up.

Happy Hunting

Radiator Hose

Dayco has an online catalog with partial Monaco listings. Google - daycoproducts.com, click on find my part, click on heavy duty. Enter your Monaco information or something close to it. It worked for me ( 05 Sig - Detroit 60 ). Good rubber hoses ( Dayco or Gates ) seem to last 15 to 20 years on these engines. I hope this helps someone. Mike

I've used silicone hoses and sleeves on a lot of things, even to replace the flex hose to the macerator pump, but when it came to radiator hoses, I went traditional. I found a Gates cross-reference site that shows all the bends and ID/OD specs and then found all the hoses online. Some of mine (2005 Exec with DD-S/60) have different ID specs on each end.

https://assets.gates.com/content/dam..._web.pdf#page1

I replaced mine when changing the coolant since draining is a chore. I didn't have any deterioration failures, only one that developed a pinhole leak due to rubbing on another part. But they were definitely showing their age at ~15 years and the change was easy since the system had been drained.

As an aside, don't forget to re-tighten the clamps a few months after installing the hoses. Don't ask how I know...

The silicone hoses seem to be the toughest. They are costly so one has to balance the cost effectiveness against the longevity of the OEM style hoses.
