Silicone Radiator Hoses?

I would like to change the radiator hoses on my 2007 Cummins 400 ISL. I have heard that the best hoses today are silicone. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone found silicone hoses to fit this engine?
I have already replaced the hose that goes to the coolant tank when I changed out the tank to a stainless steel one made by Talin Vector. So just looking for the other ones.

Any info is appreciated as always.

I used them when I changed my hoses -- heater hoses and radiator hoses. They are pricey. I got them on line, but can't remember where. You aren't going to find an exact fit, find the angle you need and buy them long and cut them to fit.

I used them on my motorcycle. They cost but they will never fail and are pretty much lifetime hoses. Very, very high quality and durability. I would recommend them provided you can make them fit etc.

If you do change over, be aware they require a "smooth" inside radius hose clamp rated for silicone hose applications. A regular hose clamp will cut the hoses.

Before you wave the flag around too energetically, I searched and the best I could find is that Flexfab engineers and makes hose assemblies in the US of A.

Their plant, Flexfab (Dongguan) Rubber Products Co., Ltd. Dongguan, China is, and I quote from their ISO certificate, "Manufacture of rubber hoses" so chances are all hoses are made there.

Also, I found this from a Flexfab seller on eBay:
SILICONE HOSE IS NOTCOMPATIBLEWITH FUEL OR OIL
Years ago when working on large diesel generators, I remember silicone hoses hitting the market and they were nice to work with, BUT, we found that the hoses would swell after some time and would 'break' very easy, typically right where they were clamped..... we attributed it to oil and fuel getting on them (diesels are a dirty machine). Maybe contact Flexfab directly on this one.

I would just stick to the 'natural' rubber hoses.

From your website link:
Are silicone hoses compatible with oil and fuel? No, ourstandard silicone hoses are not suitable for use with oil or fuel. However, we do offer special fluorocarbon and fluoro silicone liners that provide superior chemical resistance. Please contact our engineering department for more details and support in designing a chemical-resistant product to meet your specific requirements.

So I hope you have the proper item?

All regular silicone coolant hoses are not intended to be "used" for oils or fuels . If I had a bad oil leaking on old machine I would think twice to use them, as it will attack from the outside.

I put some on my old truck, replaced all the coolant hoses as well as the charge air hoses. Used the other kind of hose clamps cant remember the name but they were smooth. In any case they are still under the hood and have about 300k miles on them.

Thatís what Iím wondering. They make them for automotive use, I donít think you need to have a hermetically sealed engine to use them.

It's a valid point, and possibly very important. Poor quality silicone hoses will not tolerate fuel or oil and will cause problems.

Or that oil leaking on regular hose clamps or over tightened clamped hose may cause failure and you should watch out for it. Point brought up by member with industrial experience where silicone hoses were used, probably they expected these to be a cure all or extended term upgrade and failed prematurely. If you seen something before say something. Most likely any quality coolant hose swap would be the last needed on a MH of an owner either rubber or silicone.
