... other than possibly the processor? When I set up my first VMSpc last year I spoke with Mark at Silverleaf and he told me that I could experience problems running the system with an Intel Atom processor. I haven't tried using the Atom processor with my VMSpc (am running mine with a Microsoft Surface Pro) but something to consider when the designer of the system tells us it may not work as designed.

My HP Omni 10 has an Intel Atom processor, and it has worked find over the past year.

I use a DELL Inspiron Mini (10") - upgraded the ram to 2 gb. I'm also running the Co-Pilot Live Navigation Software. The Inspiron is fairly rugged, it is a bit of a challenge finding the right mount for it.

I bought a Dell 10 inch Netbook when Sam's Club had the Slime Edition for $200. No problem finding a good mount as I always use RAM mounts for everything mounted in my cockpit area.

See photos.

I also use the RAM mount for my Garmin RV760 GPS, my Tire SafeGuard TPMS, my cup holder and I am now purchasing another RAM mount to hold my Samsung Galaxy S3.

I buy ALL of my RAM mounts from GPS City. There are the greatest to work with and if something doesn't fit or work the way you want it to they will take it back within a specific time-frame.

When I called ALK inquiring about the CoPilot Live for Laptop map version, the person I spoke with told me the maps were 2011, and she didn't have any idea when they might be updated. That kind of surprised me.

Can you verify that your maps are dated 2011?

I have their App on my iPad and the maps are dated 2014.

Thanks

I bought the CoPilot Live for Trucks in 2014. Truthfully, I haven't at the last map update. It worked well on our trip out west last year.

Very Nice setup Dr4Film! Your mount looks much cleaner than mine! How is it fastened? I have mine fastened to windshield with a suction cup.

Thanks all for all the good info. Now the ball is back in my court all I have to do now is convince this frugal Scotsman to pull the trigger on the 5 or 6 hundred to get it done.

Thanks again

Unfortunately as I found out, the year purchased doesn't necessarily mean that is also the date of the maps.

You can verify your map data as follows:
Menu -> scroll to Settings -> scroll to About CoPilot. You should see line entries for Data and Cities. After each one of those you should see a series of letters followed by a series of numbers. The first four digits of the number will be the year of your maps.

I think you have a different Silver Leaf product we are talking about the VMSpc witch is a windows pc based engine diagnostic tool.

I used RAM products to fasten it to the side of the panel just under the window. My driver's window slides open so I can talk with Border Agents easily or for ventilation and sometimes I need to stick my head out the window to check things out.

So, I really don't like to attach anything to my window.

See photos.

That was a year ago. The Nextbook 10.1 is fast. I run lots of programs on it and have not noticed any problem with speed. This is a QUAD CORE Atom!
