Sirius radio antenna

While on top of the coach 2008 Monaco Diplomat I noticed that there is a Sirius xm antenna on the roof. I traced the cable down and hooked it to the receiver and it does not work. So I am planning on installing a new antenna in its place. My question is what antenna do you use and why? Pictures of yours would be great. The litle square plastic one just don’t seem like the best choice. I am thinking about installing this one.

Tim,

You mentioned plugging the antennae directly to your stereo if I'm hearing you correctly. You may need a tuner for your Sirius radio to work. The antenna wire plugs into the tuner and then into the radio I believe. I found that The Sirius capable head unit may still require this piece to pick up a signal. About $40.00.
Good luck!

I gave up on the little square SiriusXM antenna, and installed this marine model.

Never tried the Marine antenna but anything has got to be better than the standard square puck that comes with the tuner. I've tried placing it in the windshield, windshield fairing, side windows of my Semi tractor - none that really worked well. I just put up with the spotty coverage or else blamed the "vibration.."

Never thought their was an alternative.. Just might work!

I have been using the magnetic antenna that Sirius supplies with some kits and have it attached to the metal frame above the front TV. The only thing above it is the fiberglass roof and it has worked great there for about 5 years. There are very few times that I loose signal and that is usually because of a road lined closely with large trees. It is hooked into a Sirius receiver and then to the radio input. Hope this may help, Happy Trails Bert

I’m using the little square one. It’s not even mechanically attached to the roof. It looks like the self leveling Dicor is the only thing holding it on.

I epoxied a cheap one to the underside of the front cap ceiling. Signal goes thru fiberglass just fine.

I put the little square magnetic puck up on a steel bracket that I slid between the ceiling and a cabinet. Made it so it's right up against the ceiling of my Class C overhang and it works fine. Just didn't want to bother drilling through the roof.

I used this one. Because of the length of the cable. low profile looks good on the roof.
