Even in my pickup truck with the factory antenna on the roof the satellite will drop out occasionally when driving near tall trees or close up to mountains. Just see how it goes, and you could always put it up on the roof if you have to. In my case so far it's worked fine having the antenna underneath the roof in my motorhome, and if it drops out occasionally I'm not worried about it.

Moved the antenna to the midline of the front, nested above the insulation. Went camping. Worked great in all directions traveling, and worked surrounded by trees parked in a NE direction surrounded by trees. I’m happy!
