Slide insulation

When I put the living room slide out there is a piece of insulation about 1" wide and 5/16" thick that has detached from the bottom some where. The detached end lays on the carpet when the slide is out. It is a dark gray material. Not rubber, but a "pressed" like material. I can't think of a better description. If anyone has had this happen, do you know where it is attached and how necessary it is? The thought of having someone remove the slide scares me if that is how it must be replaced. Hoping someone here has seen this and knows an easy fix.

Thank you

Brian

I suggest posting a photo if you can. It helps a lot.

Good photos. I'm sure someone will know exactly what that is.

It's the felt from the slide seal

It's the felt that is part of the lower slide seal assembly. I'm sure someone will post the exact arrangement, but it's part of it. I'd guess it either blocks wind/noise or helps wipe the bottom as it travels.

Let's see what others have to say,
