Slide lock covers/removal

Hi Guys, 04 Dynasty front slides have black aluminum covers over the slide locks on each end of the slides. There is a single Phillips head screw at the top of the cover which when removed doesn't free up the cover. How do these covers come off? Don't want to pry and distort them but mine are full of live oak leaves which do not rot away. Any advice? Thanks, Dave

The slide out locks are screwed onto the slide with Phillips head screws. The black plastic covers over the slide out locks are secured with black plastic rivets (at least that is the way they come from the factory). You will have to drill out the plastic rivets to remove the cover.

Here is a link to a thread on replacing the slide out locks and covers.

This thread also has a link to replacement plastic rivets.
Let me know if you have any more questions?

You do not have the locks described in the above post. Once you remove the top screw you push up on the entire unit (1/2”) and it will come off...tap at the bottom if necessary with a wooden dowel and hammer if necessary.

Thanks guys, I was able to use you replies to see what I'm dealing with this project. The links were a great aid in understanding what the system looks like under the covers and how they are removed. Tomorrow I will see if I can (Getter Done). Thanks to all , Dave
