Slide out new install fabric won't roll up evenly
Just replaced/installed new fabric cover over my living room slide out. Everything went pretty smoothly but when but when I extend the slide out the end nearest the front of the coach does not stretch out tightly like it does near the rear of the coach. When I retract the slide out I notice that the front of the fabric does not roll up as tightly as the rear of the fabric. I would like the fabric to roll evenly around the tube on both ends. The sag on the front part is not a lot but it may be enough to gather water when it rains. How can I get both ends of the fabric to roll the same on the roller tube? I have tried to make some adjustments but have had no luck. I would really appreciate someone sharing the how they coped with and solved this problem.

By chance, did you measure before you installed the new awning? I ordered a full set for a 3 slide Ambassador and found that not one of them was square or to the correct size. I ended up making measurements and taking pictures and they sent me a new set. They were square and the correct size. The first set looked like a rookie cut them to the right size then folded the seams and they were small and the seams were not straight. If the two ends are different length they will not roll up the same. Hope this may help, Happy Trails Bert

What is the brand and model of the slide topper? I replaced my carefree of colorado toppers last winter and had a similar issue with the Omega II which is the topper that also has window awning that you can pull out. Mine would roll out fine but wouldn't roll up all the way. Ended up being that the once the roll got so far in the roll got so thick it would get stuck on the slide topper cover. had to end up taking out the pull strap for the window awning since the fabric was a little bit thicker.

Your slide is not out all the way on the loose end. Yank on it hard a few times and if I'm right it will tighten the fabric some

Well, I did use talon and I have one that stays loose on one end when out. And it's because my slide stops an inch short of fully extended. Not a problem with the topper.

Did you release the roller and then re-wind it before installing the new cover, or did you somehow clamp the roller so tension was kept on it throughout the process?
Did you lube the roller slot and the slot along the roof's edge?
