Slide out skid plate???

Just recently purchased a 2000 Monaco Windsor. I got a great deal on a unit that need just a little TLC (cosmetic only). I am now at the point of flooring. I would love to replace the forward carpet with either a wood, or wood looking product. I have been lurking around this site for several weeks, and see that there are many options for flooring and just as many opinions as to which way to go. I have not, however, been able to find any threads about the possibility of changing out the skid plate under the sofa, to either one or two rollers. The rear portion of my slide contains the kitchen, which does have two rollers under the cabinets. From everything I have read, scratching hard surface floors is the biggest problem with removing the carpet in the front of the coach, and I would think that with a roller, that problem could easily be overcome.
So, what say ye?

Thanks in advance,
