Slide relays

My dynasty slides will not operate unless the ignition is off. So I start it to build air to get to ride height and then have to turn it off to run the slides. Then start it again.
I don't know why it's set up like that but is it easy to disable the ignition off feature so I can run slides regardless of key position?
Maybe it's like that to prevent some slide deployment while driving?

Jeff,

Yes it is. On my 07 Diplomat, if fuse F22 in the fwd electrical bay is pulled, the slides operate with the engine running. Check your wiring diagram to verify the fuse. Bill Willard also posted how he wired a bypass switch inline with this fuse as a safety feature. My slide motors also like the 13.8V they get with the engine running as well.

I have an '06 Knight, and it was my understanding that the slides worked off of the house batteries. I think I based this solely on the manual stating "House batteries should be fully charged" in the slide-out room instructions, and that I have never had to use the Battery Boost switch to move them in (my chassis batteries go flat often). Going by that, I have always plugged in first before extending the slide-outs, figuring I would have better success if they were getting a charge while I was using them.

That's probably good practice anyway
