Slide Seal Sizing ?

I have been following the threads on slide seals, as I need to replace the ones on the old girl.
M question is when I look at the available seals and the part numbers in the catalogs they seem to be .25 inches shorter in the flap dimension than the seal that's on the coach now. My worry is that the shorter seal won't as well.
I would like to hear from you folks who have replaced this seal.
Was the original seal longer in the flap?
Does the new seal work well enough to keep water and air flow out?

Thanks
John

I had to replace a top slide seal that I measured as 3.5",
the replacement from Pelland was specified as 3.25".
It worked out fine, as the sweep seal had adequate
length. There is quite a bit of variation along the length
of the slide, and the 1/4 inch variation was OK and
the seal was a little longer in reality.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was thinking but I always like a second opinion from someone who has been there.

Thanks
John

Did you do it yourself? Can you provide a short tutorial if you did please?
