Slide Toppers

Hi,
Have to replace one of my slide toppers due to a rip near the topper where it joins to the coach. I seem to remember that people were putting auto door trim on the lip that the topper slides under when going in and out.

This apparently helps with the tearing. Any comments? Or other ideas. This is the only topper on the coach that has done this.

Thanks

Is it torn or did the stitching pull out? That happened to me and I removed the fabric and had a local upholstery shop restitch it. Good as new!

If the lip is tight to the topper, then the door trim will roll off when you operate the slide -- I had it on mine, & it worked OK, but lip wasn`t tight to the fabric -- The best way to keep the fabric from being cut, is to cut the lip off where it rubs -- The lip is about 3/8 inch, & cut a couple of inches off -- Won`t hurt a thing to do that -- In fact, I cut that lip off on all my covers -- I just put $800.00 worth of toppers on , & sure didn`t want any cuts -- William Willard
