Slide weight capacity and tv lift

Good Morning,

I’m hoping someone can answer 3 questions I have. We are putting in new ultra leather furniture to replace the fabric furniture and a tv lift behind the sofa. We have a 2007 Monaco Camelot 42 PDQ.

1. Does anyone know the weight limitations for both front slides. The new sofa and recliner weigh 160 lbs and 190 lbs. I have googled and read the entire owners manual and can’t find an answer.

2. Has anyone installed a tv lift behind a sofa? Can they be mounted on floor only and not the wall? We don’t want it in a cabinet, just secured behind the sofa.

3. We want to remove the side pieces of the valance and just leave the wood top valance section. We’re going to test one in the bedroom to see if we can do it without ruining the whole thing. Has anyone tried this? We want to replace the original shades with wood blinds that will be secured with Velcro straps while traveling.

After spending a few days in Conroe Hospital in TX (not fun to get sick on the road!) I was diagnosed with fairly bad asthma and am trying to eliminate as many dust catchers as possible. I appreciates any suggestions. Our rig is in great condition but it’s time to update a few things

If you had a 08' model yr with the hyd slides, I would say 'no problem', but I recently learned the 07' models didn't have hyd front slides.
Maybe Bill Willard will chime in with his opinion.

I can help with the valances -- The top is secured by a screw in the middle of the valance -- Hard to find sometimes, because the shades don`t leave much room -- I find that if you open the window & screen, it gives you more head room -- Usually just one screw -- The side pieces is secured by the bracket that`s easy to see -- Once removed, the side pieces are secured to the upper part by screws -- Removing them leaves no damage to the upper part --
Which slide are you installing the lift ? The road side extends less & has more support, but as far as how much weight they will carry would be a guess -- I`ve never seen a chart showing weight limit
Your slides are electric & mfg by Lippert -- Bill Willard

Thank you for your replies. The new sofa will be on the driver’s side which is the larger slide. The sofa weighs 160, the lifts weigh about 20 lbs, and a new tv about 25 lbs for a grand total of 205 lbs.

MS Happy Campers, thank you for the link. What brand lift did you use? We’ve seen a few on Amazon that we’re considering.

Bill, thank you for the answer regarding the valances. I’m going to try one in the bedroom today. I thought I’d do the bedroom one as a test because no one will see it if I don’t do it right

I don’t think the sofa weighs any more than the current sofa so it shouldn’t be but about an extra 50 lbs. We’re going to weigh the old one when it comes out to make sure we don’t overload the slide.

I’m pretty excited about the changes. I’ll post before and after pics once we’re done.

Happy Trails
