Slide Wire Sausage

Open to suggestions on how to prevent this wire sausage from getting mangled when operating the slide. It had to be attached at one point. Just saying that I don't want to loose a limb trying to manually keep it from the sharp parts. Thanks in advance on any input.

Edit: I already reattached the ground wire.

Thanks for the input. As for the installation. Would you use a self taping screw or just drill a hole through the box and use nuts and bolts. Any idea how the factory attached this thing?

as long as that piece of iron isn't really thick a self tapper should work fine. I have no idea how the factory routes it.

There's no way that it can attach to the beam, it slides into a carrier.
