We have had 3 MHs. First was 34 ft 1 slide gasser with HWH 4 jack manual system. Second was 39W Winnebago Journey with 2 slides and HWH 4 jack manual system.
Now have a 2006 Ambassador 40PLQ with PowerGear 3 jack auto system.
When we'd level and then put out the slides we'd almost always have to make a slight adjustment on the slide side (road side)with the HWH and it could be a PITA. Sometimes the levelinng would be easy but in many cases we spent a LOT of time leveling and my DW was getting VERY annoyed. She said our next MH should have auto levelers. I said they can only be found on upscale MHs. So, when we found the auto system on the HR products that was a plus. We now make sure the suspension is fully aired up, put out the slides, dump the air, then hit the level button. Just got our MH back from the dealer on Wednesday (it was their for 3.5 months for repairs that should have taken a week or so). Followed the above procedure and it was perfectly level in no time at all (check all over with a level).
We have a concrete pad and neither of our manual coaches could be ajusted easily. The rule provided was level then slides out. We had almost always had one H of a time leveling. Instructions were level side to side and then front to rear. Many many times we had to raise the jacks and start again.
Only problem with the Auto PowerGear was last Nov 1 and I later realized its brain must have been corrupted. We had a terrible time on our pad in Florida and had to manually level and use leveling blocks under one side. The prior year with our Winnie it was not as tough. It appears that since we used the power kill switch it turned the leveling computer off and it reset as our first night headed north leveling was again a piece of cake - on a site less level than our FLA lot.
Only problem with 3 point jacks is that entry motion seems to rock the coach. I tried to get rid of this with no success. I bought two bottle jacks and used them on the front. Ha, now I had a 5 jack system and no better. Then bought four 8,000 lb levelers and put two in front and two in rear - now a 7 level system and still motion with the tail wagging. Then put the two bottle jacks back under for a 9 jack system - still wiggles with body motion.
Now, I just use the built in three jacks and let it wiggle. Don't know how this will impact any future "buy" decision.
