...a power drill, some spare 16ga wire and a left-over tag light. Hmmm, looks like a step-illumination devise to me.
We hate to leave the "porch" light on in a quiet, dark campground but were having difficulty seeing the step. The solution was adding a small light under the door so that it lighted the step. Worked out pretty good but the wife objects to the duct tape and lag bolts. The sawzall will get those bolt heads blended in nicely though I think.

RonNBama,
Since you seem to have to much time on your hands I think you should sell you Monaco product and buy some other brand of RV that breaks all the time. That way you won't get bored and have to come up with projects.
Well you know I'm just kidding, wish the weather would cooperate around here so I could do some little projects. We don't have a barn to park the motorhome in yet and I'm not crawling around on a creeper in damp cold conditions to,change the oil, fix the toad tail light problem ect, etc.
Whats the weather like in Norther Alabama?
Letsgoagain

Time on my hands, not really, I have a Saturn toad, a Jeep GC, a Toyota Solara, a Yamaha FZ1, Suzuki GSXR and a Kawasaki KLR650 to keep my tinker-gene occupied most of the time. I take used oil to the recycler in a 6-gallon bucket! The guys at the Quick-Change place love to see me drive up. I guess they sell the old oil for a few bucks.
Wish I had a barn too. The roof-only parking area sure allows for a cool draft down your neck when you're squirming around under the Cummins on an old rug. Weather here has been less than perfect of late. Highs in the 40's and lows in the 30's. Cloudy, rainy, etc etc. Going camping on 2/2/07 come he** or high-water though.

If you look under your electric steps there is also a light there.

Yeah, that light is only on when the steps are set to automatic operation. We switch them off so that they don't extend and retract every time we go in or out.

Have you considered road-flares? Get the long-lasting kind and you'll have illumination for most of the night. Buy 'em by the case and outline a path to your toad, to the power-pedestal, the camp-laundry, the entire perimeter of your site, or wherever. Heck, use that fancy drill of yours and poke some holes in the skin of that rv (or use duct-tape) and you could even mount 'em at the corners of the coach itself.
We recently camped next to a guy that had put out a couple of those little mushroom-shaped solar-powered accent lights. He'd drilled holes in blocks of wood, painted the blocks and then stapled imitation ivy/plants to the blocks/lights. One on each side of step was quite nice, it made everything quite 'homey' looking.
