Thanks Jchemie

I do recall learning that a long time ago but hadn't really thought about it. The key ring does have several keys on it and I leave it in the ignition 99.9% of the time. I think it is time to replace it and stop that pratice.

On the ignition solenoid replacement.....

I can find a 120-105851 but not a 120-105851-6. I talked to Supply House and they couldn't tell me what the -6 signifies. On Amazon they sell one that is a replacement for a 120-105851 and 120-105851-6.

Anyone know what the -6 may signify?

Thanks

Having the same problem and troubleshooting to the same solenoid. How did your troubleshooting process end up?

I unfortunately stopped right there. The cold and rain started and my ambition went out the door. The solenoid is still sitting on my desk. But it is getting warmer and little dryer so it about time to get started again.

I'm going to replace the ignition switch too. In the end I'll probably will never know what fixed the problem between the ignition switch, ignition solenoid, battery disconnect and fuses. But I hope one of these will fix the problem. Luckily they were all fairly inexpensive.

Just got back from a 500 mile trip without any of the previous issues. Not sure what fixed the problem but I replaced the ignition switch, ignition solenoid and fuses.

Thanks again everyone for all the input and advise.

Bill
