Sony Backup Monitor Fell Out

On our last trip we hit some really bad roads in SC and the Sony Backup Monitor mounted in the dash fell backwards into all the wires behind the dash. I was able to get some foam tubing and prop it up to hold it in place but it still bounces around.

It looks like the mounting bracket (if you can call it that) was just glued to the back of the plaster instrument panel cover and one good pot hole tore it loose.

Anyone have any suggestions on trying to remount the monitor? I have a photo I would like to show but don't know how to include it in this post.

Thanks

Wayne

Happened to me this spring. I glued the bracket back in place with some epoxy. So far so good after 4000 miles and some pretty rough roads. Mine is an 05 Ambassador but I would imagine the mounting is similar.

Here is the photo of the backup monitor. Jim, I am going to assume you put the epoxy (glue?) on the round stud looking things and held it in place somehow till it set, is that correct? There are 2 on each side of the monitor.

Thanks for the tip Monaco Mama, I printed the instructions out so my clogged mind can hopefully find it the next time.

I also added flat washers to the studs next to the plastic to get more epoxy to the surface. Mine has now held up from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

Wayne same thing here on a 2000 dyn, I removed the inspection cover on top of the dash cleaned out the hole that the head of the mounting screw sets in and I used JB weld but Epoxy would probably work.
