Thumbs up Source for basement heater in line snap disc thermostat switch

2008 Monaco Camelot, electric water bay heater quit. Found the in-line snap disc switch visible from open bay door, mounted about 8 inches up and I had to look from a low position or use a mirror to spot it. Medium phillips head screwdriver removed the two screws. Wires pull off from the blades of switch. System Heat switched on, Jumped wires and heater worked, thus snap switch defective.

As for replacement part, on at 45 degrees and below and cuts off at 60 degres and above.

We have a 2008 Knight. Heater has come on twice in last five years. I cant find the snap disc to check continuity. I did find a small disc near the Sani-con but it's not near the heater and I can't trace the wires.

If it's not to inconvenient could you provide a photo of the location of your disc.

Any help would be appreciated.

That is probably it. Mine is near the sanicon as well. I've taken a bag of ice and put it against the disc to see if it's functioning.

Mine was also fairly close to the Sani-con.

How I tested the chip

As one of the diagnostic checks after I located the snap switch (next to the sanicon in our water bay--it's a dime size switch, wires out of sight, only the small shiny metal tab showing.) Anyway, since it was almost 65 outdoors, I removed the snap switch, pulled the wires and ran a short wire between the two wires from the snap switch. then when I turned on the Basement Heat switch inside the coach, The heater came right on. The last time we used the basement heater it seemed to stay on for a long long time. After we shut it off it would not come back on. No red light by the switch, even in freezing temps. That's how I determined the snap switch was the problem. Easy find, easy fix. Good Luck

Our 2011's has never worked... I just put a small electric meter on an extension cord from the bay 110 outlet with a farm thermo-outlet that turns on at 45 degrees.
