Starlink in motion

I am currently in Copper Harbor in Michigan’s upper peninsula. I installed an in motion Starlink last week and so far this has been one of the best items I have added to our coach.
There is zero cell coverage up here from any carrier. With the Starlink, parked in a site that has a tree canopy on both sides, with a view of the sky above the coach, we are streaming tv and able to be on the Internet as well as make calls on our cells.
I have the 150 dollar a month plan, that I can pause or activate with no penalty or fees. Install was easy, I mounted aluminum rails to the coach between the air horns, then mounted the included wedge mount to these rails with 5/16 stainless bolts. I ran the cable through the original hole that my factory satellite used.
We live in the Upper Peninsula and there are a lot of areas with poor to no service. My wife was able to be online while traveling the entire time.

Wow that's great. Can you post a picture of your antenna mount?

You must have got the $2500 antenna ? Appreciate the no cell service driver, I mean it's got to be fantastic in comparison.

Yes, I did spring for the 2500 dish. For us it made sense, we live in a remote area and take our vacations here in the UP. my wife can be online while I drive, keeps her happy!
Being able to use the cell is a huge thing as we can reach our family or they can reach us. Plan is to retire in the spring so we will be using it more.

Here are a few pics. I used 1/2 inch thick aluminum 3” wide. Drilled and tapped 5/16-18 holes to bolt the supplied wedge mount down. Then I used 3m tape and stainless self tapping screws on each end drilling into an aluminum cross beam. I used a stud finder on the roof and it actually worked well.
I used Dicor on the bottom of the aluminum. Then over the top and sides of the rails.

Thank you.
Next on my list is to remove the original moto stat dish and the King Dome satellite’s.
Then clean the roof, replace Dicor as needed and paint the roof with Rustoleum white marine paint.
