Steering box monaco

Having way too much play in steering. I have noticed comments here before about what box to replace the original one but did not write it down. I need numbers for the recomended replacement.
Thanks to all

Take your time but you can skim a lot of it. These are the threads about the steering box and much more.

Okiestuart if you haven’t yet done it go to Owners Corner here on iRV2 and click on Monaco Owners. There’s 2 very long threads on this exact problem and all the expertise you could hope to find in one location. I would read both at length before spending $. I no longer have the Monaco but met some great people there. Good luck.

I thought the steering problems were for the R8 chassis and not the M10 the op's Signature would have.

First you need to get under the coach with a good light and some brake clean to find out what steering box you have. I would guess your Signature should have a TRW steering box and the play should be adjustable. (The problem steering boxes are the non-adjustable Sheppard steering boxes.)

The adjustment is fairly simple, but if you are not comfortable performing the work, then take it to a shop.

X2 on what Vito says. You might also have play in other parts such as the Drag Link

Wow, what the heck can go wrong with a drag link?
There should be used ones available for far less.

The ball joint and on my drag link the ball joint, on one end, is not replaceable.

When I was researching, another member pointed me to Kaiser Alignment in Eugene, OR. Price seemed OK.

Here is the thread.

I think Source Engineering in Oregon has them a lot cheaper than Monaco.
