The light under the motorhome front step is staying on all the time. I can not seem to find any way to turn it off. I have tried the step switch, but the light stays on whether the steps are off or on, or up or down, or door open or closed.

What am I missing here?

Luke...
I am trying to remember which switch it is - but one of the switches by the door works that - It is tied to something like the storage lights ..and that switch light might be on... but the "on" lightbulb could be burned out! - Oh heck ... I should just go look...

ok...
the light is on when the porch light is on (maybe the porch light is burned out ) OR it comes on when the step light is on and the steps are coming out. If it is not the first one - then maybe there is a short...Has anyone else come up with anything different??

Ours is a separate switch by the passenger arm rest marked Step Light. Porch Light switch is on face of the arm rest as you go down the stairs.

Drifter..
The "step light" switch that you refer to only turns on the interior step well lights on our coach. I thought he was referring to the light that comes on under the step on the outside...

The Step light switch on ours does the inside and outside step lights. I also tapped into that for the added outside handle light.

OK, the problem is solved. Thanks MM.

About four days ago, I in stalled a spiffy new motion activated porch light - http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...rity-light.htm

Thus, I have left the porch light switch on all of the time, because the new light has a daylight shut-off sensor. However, what I did not realize is that the porch light switch also controls the outside step light. That is why it was on all the time.

If any of you get one of these, be aware that it come white and needs to be painted to match your coach. First a primer coat, then I used the matching touch up paint and then you need to give it a clear coat.

It is nice and bright and comes on when we walk up to the door at night. It also has a blinking LED that looks like the burglar alarm is on.

Here's a more descriptive sheet on it. But there's a price difference.
