Now it has gone to continious running and not holding step out so looking to replace Motor and Gear Box and having difficulity finding replacement. Looking for advise on parts if anyone has had simiar problem. My sources say obsolete part.

I have a different step than you but many of the motors are just power window motors for cars/trucks. I took my motor to autozone and the manager found a motor that was an exact fit for 55 dollars. It's worth a try.

Your steps were manufactured by Kwikee which was purchased by Lippert. I replaced our step motor and gear box a couple of years ago. Like the others said, the motor is a standard power window motor and readily available. I also found the gear box on etrailer.com.

Motor replacement:

Also, make sure you use the correct lube for the steps. They are exposed to lots of dirt.

My CoachStep steps use a Ford Crown Vic window motor. I do have to drill out the 3 mounting holes to accommodate larger mounting screws than what Ford uses.

Am getting "obsolete" from gear box and motor inquiries from almost everyone telling me I need to install new steps. I am sure there is a fix -- still looking. Identification for gear box # 151320 and 97435 off gear box and serial #09770032 off steps themself. Have tried e-trailer and couple of other that could not help identify saying I need to buy new steps. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Start with AutoZone "ACI Auto Window Lift Motor 83293", and you should be able to cross to similar places offering the same thing.
