2001 Monaco Dynasty Regent Tag.
The exhaust fan (over the stove) has two issues:
First the speed knob on the ceiling unit has shattered but more importantly when I remove the plastic cover I find a fan that has no screen or cover to protect it from driving rain???
Any ideas on what "should" be there? Or where to find the little knob replacement?
Jeff

Jeff, are you working on a range vent hood , or is the exhaust fan built into a convection / microwave.
Could you post a picture?
May get more help if we can see your problem.

A little embarrassed here. When I looked up through the range vent it looked like there was no screen or anything. However, upon closer inspection from the roof side when you look under the range vent head there is a wire mesh screen. Interesting to note that is ALL there is. No real way to seal this vent other than the little slide in plastic cover from below. They probably use different vents on new Dynastys.
Case closed.

Jeff,
Does your "grate" on the inside close with moveable louvers?

I added a bit of insulation capability to the vent cover by cutting a piece of reflective bubble material (like you fold out across the automobile windshield in summer) to fit the inside of the cover. A bit of spray-on adhesive will keep it in place. Very little added weight and a bit of added sound and heat retention properties.
