Stove Top Grate

OK, this may be a tough one for some of you guys. ( It involves finding the stove. ) Our black stove top grate <STRIKE>is</STRIKE> was a shiny black, but after 2 months of using the front burner on the stove, it is starting to loose it's black color and is becoming a shiny silver. Yes, there is a stove under that counter top. Has anyone else experienced this? I have photos, but the photo section is off-line so I cannot post.

We have used ours several times and with all three burning at the same time, but haven't seen what you're describing. Our's is less than a year old and we're not fulltimers, so maybe we just haven't got there yet.

Hi Mick,
Ours is still black. Jo asks "what kind of bottom your pots have"? I regularly used the front burner for making coffee until we bought an electric drip coffee maker. The pot that I was using is made of aluminum and was used in several campfires before we bought our first motorhome. Maybe the bottom stuff was burned off before we used it in the MH. I do know that regular aluminum can leave a silver smudge on things that they rub on. I noticed this while working with the stuff at the power plant.
So there,...I know where the stove top is. Hey, I even clean it when I do the dishes! She cooks, I clean, it's worked for 14 years.
