Sun Shade In-op

The driver's side power sun shade on my 2008 Cayman PDQ is inoperative. It has power for both up and down leads, so something is wrong inside - perhaps a burned out motor. Monaco sells replacement units for $266. Does anybody know 1.) who manufactures these shades 2.) is it likely that the thing can be repaired and 3.) is there a parts source other than Monaco?

The powered shade on my 2005 HR Ambassador is manufactured by CareFree of Colorado. I called them about the plastic housing used to mount my shade to the overhead. They told me it comes as a assembly with the motor included. Price was comperable with what you were quoted. I repaired it myself and wrote them off. Hope you have better results.

Do an eBay search for RV Sunblock Shade Power Smart Visor. This is made by Carefree of Colorado. Seller is shadeproinc. They have different sizes -- for example, they have one that is 26 inches wide with a 24 inch drop for $29.95 plus $10.95 shipping.
