Tag Axle

We are the proud owners of our 3rd Beaver, this one a 2008 Patriot thunder and our first coach so damn long it has a tag axle. So I am still learning about the tag. I know to lift it when ever I am manuevering in tight places, I know it takes a couple of minutes to lift and all. The manual tells me that after the tag is lifted and I move out onto the roadway at a certain speed, like 10 mph, the tag will come down. Well therein is my problem. Moved the coach out of the resort, lifting the tag before we pulled out of our spot. Exited the resort and drove it a couple of miles to the service center. I was traveling at about 30mph. When I got to the service center I saw the tag was still up. What is the deal here. The manual doesnt tell me how to get it to go down. Any advice??

I have a Beaver Westport 42 and I seldom lift the axle. Maybe it would be beneficial in those really tight turns, but I just don't lift it. Lowering it is the same as raising it. Just push the same button you lifted it with and it should lower. As for not lowering automatically, I don't know where the speed sensor is.

If you didn't toggle off the tag when you left, the tag raised itself again when you got below 10mph on your arrival. When you got out it was already up.

I think Barlow has the answer. The poster that does not lift his tag when parking is wearing out his tires. They are actually dragging. If you lift the tag when backing into tight spots the unit will turn much easier.
