Temp reading difference

Today I was warming the beast up so I could take a Trans fluid sample and noticed a big difference in the temp reading on the dash trans temp gauge and that reported to the Aladdin system by the trans. The engine temp was different too but that's been that way since the beginning. I generally havn't paid much attention to the analog gauges since I use the aladdin for all my monitoring. The dash gauges are hard to see behind the steering wheel etc. I saw a difference of around 30 degrees the aladdin reading much lower. Anybody else seem this kind of difference? I trust the aladdin more than the analogs but I'm still curious.

Yep not unusual on both Monaco coaches we have owned the silverleaf shows some of the dash gauges way off.

Pusherpilot, were you warming up by driving down the road or sitting in the driveway? I find that it takes a good 20 min. on the open road for the temps to settle in and get close to each other on the dash and on aladdin.

The analog gauges on the dash are not particularly precise; I've heard Monaco reps admit to that calling them the "customer entertainment system". The readings the Silverleaf or Alladin get from the ECM are better.

Sittin in the drive. I usually run it for about 30min every month while sitting. I also shift from drive to reverse during the process and leave it in each for about 10-15 min to get the most circulation without actually driving it. As I said, I rarely refer to the analogs while driving because they're hard to see and subject to a lot of parallax. Perhaps that's the problem, parallax.
