I have reviewed the search function on this site and have not seen data as to the temp reduction by using a sunscreen.

1. On the Panavison windshield does the inside screen or outside screen design provide the greatest heat reduction?

2. What effect does the sunscreen do to increase the aging, sealing or brittleness of the windshield.

3. If the same material is used on the thermo pane side windows will it damage the glass seals?

Does Monaco endorse a particular design?

thanks

I've never used an inside screen but have used exterior ones for both the windshield and side windows. I would think the exterior would provide better protection since it keeps the direct sunlight off the glass surface.

Outside application allows you to open the windows. I'd think the interior ones would be doable but not as convenient.

Here is a recent discusion on inside sunscreens. I believe I read where one of the Moderators here,"MonacoMama" might have the temp difference info.http://irv2.infopop.cc/eve/for...?r=47010898#47010898

The first time I bought shades was outside ones for my Bounder. I purchased them at a Bounder rally and the temp was way over 90. My AC units were having to work non-stop to keep the coach at at around 80. As soon as the shades went up it made a very noticible difference and within minutes the coach was at 70 degrees. I estimated that with my front curtains open and the shades on, it made a difference of around 15 degrees. At a FMCA rally last May in Richmond, my coach was an icebox even with the temp around 96 degrees and we were camping on a parking lot. They work really well. I have MCD exterior shades for my present coach.
