Terrible odor

a few weeks ago I uncovered the motorhome and went inside and you swear something died in there. well I do set trap and all clear and have never had mice in the past. I have checked every possible spot and haven't found anything. I have gone as far as checking all the batteries and are all good and its not a rotten egg smell.
anybody have ideas, I am at a loss
I've checked all storage compartments and they seem good

HELP

Have you sniffed under each sink cabinet? Your sink drains probably have 'cheater vents' that are supposed to allow air in when water is rushing down the pipe but not let odor out. When they fail, you get sewer gas backing up into the under sink area. It could also be just dry sink traps after a winter of no use. Pour a cup or two of water down each sink and shower drain to refill the traps. If you have a washer, also pour water down that drain too.

Years and one motorhome ago I made the mistake of using mouse bait/poison inside our coach. One bugger crawled way back up between the floor and the shower stall floor pan. It took weeks to find what the odor was and more than a month to lose the odor. It was amazingly strong and that mouse sure got even with me. I applied Odo Ban liberally, but could not reach the carcass to remove it. I did find nests that were in the floor ducts, but they had been abandoned and were not the source of the smell. I used a mirror and flashlight as there was access from inside the bathroom vanity to underneath the shower pan floor. I seldom use baits and never inside. Good hunting.

My coach sits in my shop, I knew there was a mouse in it as I could see droppings in a couple places. Set 4 traps, baited with peanut butter, where the droppings were. 4 weeks went by and never did catch it, didn't even clean the bait off the traps. Went to Branson, MO last weekend, daughter saw the mouse run across the floor. Set traps and also some of the sticky traps this time. Next evening when we got "home" from a show we had finally caught'em. Think the sticky traps may be some "keep in the coach" items now.

I leave the sticky traps in mine all the time. I leave them where they would be most likely to come in. Hopefully the traps will not draw them in. I've had good luck with them.

I only use sticky traps and never poison. I will start looking in ducts now. I have run water in all traps and ran the washer. I just haven't been able to pinpoint an area which makes it tough. under the sinks doesnot smell as bad as the rest of the coach.
will keep searching.
