How about the plane that just crashed they said the one girl survived got out of the plane and was hit by the rescue workers coming to help. There was also something about not going fast enough. Think I'll stick with my 8 wheels on the ground. I just drank from garden hose earlier today

I guess all these folks that would never ride in a motorhome will never ride in a bus or train either!

JMHO but I think people who are afraid to ride in motor homes, would be afraid to do much of anything we tend to do as a matter of course pursuing this lifestyle. Eating food prepared by someone in a non certified kitchen, Taking candy from strangers, or a cold beer. Stopping to help someone on the side of the road. Walking to the edge of a cliff on a beautiful canyon rim. In other words enjoying life.

There is one way that you can be assured that MH are less of a risk than automobiles.

When insurance companies underwrite a vehicles value they consider all the statistics regarding the likelihood that there will be an accident and what their risk is to cover the vehicles value. When you consider the value of an MH versus other vehicles, if there was such a great risk of riding in a MH, the cost of insurance would be very high.

Insurance rates are actually very reasonable based upon the underwriting value, therefore, if insurance companies do not consider underwriting a MH to be more risky, and I would venture even less risky to underwrite than a car, then you can be assured that based upon all the accident statistics that they use to establish rates, riding in a MH must be far less risky than riding in a car.

Just my 2 cents, for what every it is worth...

Another great point. One thing is for sure, insurance companies are not in business to lose money so I think you are on to something.

My wife hates my driving but not when I am driving our coach because I am focused like a laser... probably should do the same in my car.
