TMPS from eezrv products
Last May, I bought a TMPS for the coach and the toad. It's peace of mind knowing what the tire inflation & temperature is as I'm driving down the road. The system worked great until this winter. The sending units began to fail. So, reading the paper work that came with it. It sounded like a battery issue, so I replaced all 10. Six on the coach and four on the toad. While pulling the batteries out to replace, I noticed three had water in them and had already begun to rust the battery contacts. I called their tech support. He said they are aware of the problem and to seal the battery cover down into the unit with silicone. Because the cover fits down into the body, I asked him how to get the cover back out and off if it is sealed in, without ruining the plastic. He said he didn't have any information on that. Just that the techs tell customers that. He also reminded me that the unit is guaranteed for three years and if the rust prevents battery contact to send it in for a new one. This is just a buyer be ware. The coach sending units can take air in without removing them. The toad units are different on mine. The coach type are prone to leak water into them, due to the design. The toad units are water tight, but must be remove to add air. Before using silicone, I'll see if I can find some heat shrink to cover it with first before gooping it with silicone. Up until this this problem, it's worked great. Hope this helps anyone looking for a TPMS.
