To cover or not to cover
Mild winter is here up here in the Sierra Nevada. Complete with occasional snow, rain, not much sun and temps as low as 26 at night and up to 45 in the day. No need to pickle the water system, not cold enough. I just open the low cold water drain and the hot water drain. I keep my 100 gal fresh water full as well as the 100 gal fuel tank. Snap disc is activated in the water bay and a oscillating ceramic electric heater keeps the inside at 50 degrees. All this makes winter departures a snap.
I can’t make my mind up as to put the cover on or not. I use the cover for sun and dust during summer months. If I put the cover on in the winter, and we get several feet of snow, the snow probably won’t meld as fast off the top and stay wet longer. Plus there are times I will fire the two main heaters up for guests and the heater outputs will melt a hole in the side of the cover.
So there is no sun, very little dust and the leaves are all down. Does anyone think I should cover the beast?
All input is welcome.
