Toilet
After 4 days of camping and using the toilet most of the time, on the 4th day we awoke to a toilet that would not flush.
The way the toilet works is fairly simple, there are two buttons at the side. A large one and a small one.
Upon pushing the small one it just puts water into the bowl and the larger one ones a slide and sprays in flushing water.
Now the toilet will not flush. The water sprays but the slide will not open. I have looked for a fuse but can not find one, but it does make a noise when pressing the large button.
I think the slider is jammed. I looked for a release on the back but because of the way it is installed I can't see a thing and it's all done by touch.
Any one know how to unfreeze the slider or where a fuse might be or where a release might be.
Thanks

Do you know the make and model of the toilet?

Here's some info from your owner's manual (click on the image for a larger view):
The Tecma (manufacturer of the toilet) can be reached here: 800-521-3032
www.thetford.com
If you can identify the model number of your toilet, you can probably find more information on the Tecma website.
Good luck.
Take care,
Stu

Pages 176-177 in your owner's manual suggests that:
In the event the 12-Volt DC is lost at the toilet, the valve can be manually opened using the override knob located in the back of the toilet. Early model toilets require the use of a wrench to operate the valve. Newer models will have a thumbwheel.
Take care,
Stu

I had the same issue when my coach batteries were low. The charger had been turned off. Are you plugged in to shore power or using the generator?

This is the one thing that concerned me about these hi-tech toilets they install in Motorhomes. Had Magnum Opus damn near computerized toilets in ours when bought. First thing done and this from experience....gravity has been working for the 67 yrs I have been around..............removed and installed gravity toilet. Just a water line, mechanical flush, no wires, no micro-switches and printed circuit boards, just plain old gravity doing its thing. Removed the toilet in the back, who needs 2 toilets in 40 feet? Not all toilets can be replace with old fashioned RV units but the main one here could and was, works great!!!

I'm with you pal.
I can just see myself explaining to my wife why she can't use the toilet because the battery is dead.
Spent my life repairing electronic equipment, sure don't want to be fixing a stinking toilet.
