how does that blue wire circuit work? why should it read to ground?

I thought you had a Prodigy Wireless Unit. There is no Blue wire needed. Everything is provided by Prodigy.

Mount the receiver onto the A frame tongue of the trailer. Plug the 7-Way into your coach. Plug the trailer into the Prodigy receiver.

Finished.

it is the trailer that has the issue not the prodigy, the prodigy doesn't see the trailer because of an open circuit

I won't be seeing 70 degrees for at least 4 or 5 months, 80 is might be 6 months away.

My temperatures are currently around zero, with wind chills around -25F. But they say it's going to warm up, and we should be a balmy 40 degrees by the weekend. Woo hoo, a heat wave, I can't wait!

Good thing your trailer wiring is open, shouldn't be too hard to track down. It's probably where your umbilical splices into the rest of the wiring, but I guess it could be where the wires split off to the brakes. Or maybe you're lucky and it's just a bad ground?

So what you are saying is that the Prodigy doesn't see the Blue Wire going to your electric brakes, is that correct?

If that is true, then the purpose of the blue wire is to carry a variable amount of 12 VDC voltage which is applied to the electric brakes depending on how hard you brake.

If it reads continuity to ground then there is a short or bare wire resting up against the trailer frame.

yes it doesn't see the blue wire, there should be some resistance on the blue wire to ground. if not the wire is open.

the ground is good, i bet it is in the plug itself, the junction box is right under the front of the trailer. thats the first place i will check. and it's pretty dang cold for here today,lower 20s

problem found and fixed, broken wire going to one wheel. thanks for all the help
